PROBLEM
This prestigious five-star resort consists of 354 rooms and 13 villas with a built-up area of 75,158.56 square meters (809,000 ft2). The project is located very close to the sea where the salinity level in the groundwater table is high, creating a high risk of steel reinforcement corrosion.
APPLICATION
MCI®-2005 was incorporated into more than 18,000 cubic meters (635,664 ft3) of concrete in the substructure.
CONCLUSION
MCI®-2005 met the requirements of the design engineering firm and was incorporated to enhance the durability of concrete and maximize the life of the structure.
