Announcement of fixed telephone number change
As of October 05th 2008, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) is going to change all fixed phone number in Vietnam by adding an extra number "3" at the beginning the current number.
MDI Office phone and fax number will be changed as follows:
Ha Noi Office:
Our fixed phone and fax number will be changed also from 7 digits to 8 digits.

Ho Chi Minh City Office:
Our fixed phone and fax number will be changed from 7 digits to 8 digits.

From October 05th 2008 till October 18th the old numbers are still functional. As of October 19th, the use of the old numbers will be discontinued; anybody dialing to fixed telephone lines in Vietnam has to add an extra '3' at the beginning of their number accordingly.
